October 20, 2010, Shenzhen Institute of Technology-TQ-Global, school-enterprise cooperation plan officially launched. TQ-Global founder, Mr Raymond D. Neoh gave an excellent speech to students of 2008 in Cartoon/Animation.

The plan combines 3-month 3D modeling course conducted by TQ-Global and practical on the job training with TQ-Global. Excellent trainees may be shortlisted for permanent positions with TQ-Global.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong tries on TQ-Motor 3D Singapore

Shanghai,12th September-Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visits Singapore pavilion at Shanghai World Expo,China. PM Lee tried on Singapore’s first stereoscopic 3D racing game,TQ-Motor 3D Singapore.

PM Lee accompanied by his wife Ho Ching and some senior officers, came to 3D racing game booth. With 3D glasses, PM Lee enjoyed 3D racing game in our specially designed car seat. They had an incredible gaming experience playing the game. With breathtaking images, sound, live action and speed, they were able to explore and view Singapore in 3D.

TQ-Motor 3D Singapore is honored to get sponsorship from Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA). Due to popular demand, TQ Motor 3D Singapore racing exhibit at Singapore Pavilion Shanghai World Expo has been extended till 31 October 2010.

IDGT at WDA Creative Industries Fair 2010

Institute of Digital Game Technology (IDGT) participated at Creative Industries Fair 2010, which was organized by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), on 21st to 23rd May 2010, at the Marina Square Atrium, Singapore. Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications, and the Arts (MICA) of Singapore is guest-of-honour of the fair.

Mr. Lui Tuck Yew presented “CI WSQ Outstanding Trainee Award” to two best trainees of one-year full time professional training course(WSQ Diploma in games development) conducted by IDGT. The diploma comprises of two specialized courses, namely Game Programming and Technical Artist. And IDGT also received CI WSQ Training Partner Award from Mr. Lui.

IDGT student, Ms. Hoo Qing Yu received the "CI WSQ Outstanding Trainee Award" from Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for MICA of Singapore.

IDGT student, Mr. Er Tiow Chye received the "CI WSQ Outstanding Trainee Award" from Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for MICA of Singapore.

IDGT is set up by TQ-Global (Holdings) Pte. Ltd. IDGT’s objectives are to empower the future leader of the game industry, to provide technology, and conduct R & D to fuel the digital game industry in Asia.

What’s CI WSQ?
Working hand in hand with economic agencies, employers and many creative practitioners in the industries, WDA has developed the CI WSQ that encapsulates workplace competencies for the Creative Industries. To ensure the effective implementation of the CI WSQ framework, WDA has appointed the CI Manpower Skills Training Councils (MSTCs) for each of the three sub-sectors, which comprises of creative industry veterans and representatives from partner agencies. There is no academic pre-requisite required for admission into the CI WSQ training programme and progressive qualification pathways can be created to facilitate career advancement prospects.

Senior Chinese leader, Li Changchun tried out 3D TQ-Motor

May 16, China- Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun tried out 3D TQ-Motor at the 6th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF 2010).

Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), had spent 5 minutes sitting down and playing the game and he was very impressed by the technology and the game play. When he was told that TQ-Global would be demonstrating a new game called the Singapore in 3D at the Shanghai World Expo 2010, he said,”I feel excited. I will definitely come and try on this game at Shanghai World Expo.”

In addition, he said, nowadays, taking advantage of new media boom and 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, China’s animation industry will own enormous development space with bright prospects.

“We should put more effort into developing animation industry. With 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, there are a lot of Chinese literary masterpieces and idioms. To extend the world-wide influence, we need two ‘wheels’, one is industry and marketing, the other is hi-tech, new media and informatization, the two wheels help bring
rich and generous Chinese culture resources to the world.”

January 4, 2010, IDGT trainees were attached to game companies in Singapore.Companies participated in internship program are Nvidia, G Element Pte Ltd, Tyler Projects, Personae Studios LLP, Lionstork Studios, Nexgen Studio Pte Ltd, SBA Mobile Solutions LLP, CACAni Animation System of NTU gameLAB, Red Hare Studios, Game Factory of NTU gameLAB, Mikoishi Pte Ltd, and TQ GLOBAL.

4 Student artists, Jasmine, Victor, Zhen Yang and Chee Seong will work with our TQ experienced production crew in China to gain real world experience game production. Each Intern has a personal Mentor who can be contacted at any time to discuss technical or career matters.

“After completion of the five-month basic theoretical training, I finally know how to solve the problems I was used to encounter and work in a new and efficient way.”said student artist Zhen Yang. They all treasure the hands-on experience to practice both hard technical skills and soft inter-personal skills.

IDGT WSQ Diploma course 2009

IDGT WSQ Diploma course commenced on 3rd August 2009.

WSQ Diploma course is a one year full time professional training course conducted by IDGT. The diploma comprises of two specialised courses, namely Game Programming and Technical Artist. IDGT enrolled 41 candidateds in 2009, 20 are TA students and 21 are GP students. Students will firstly receive five-month Basic Theoretical training including Common Foundation Modules and further training in advanced subjects. Classes are conducted within the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) campus, Singapore.

Jack, one of the IDGT TA Instructors said that it was very important to set the candidates’ expectations of the game industry right. To make the best of the training provided by IDGT, they would instil within the students to put passion and desire in extra effort.

“Strong Teamwork Spirit is an important characteristic of a competent game artist or game programmer.”added Jack. IDGT calls for teamwork and workplace communications between artists and programmers. Student artists and programmers are required to collaborate and work together to complete their group projects.
